Who We Are

Boutique travel advisory, based in Abruzzo, Italy

We are Teri Fioramonti and Thomas Winslow. We met in Madrid, where we both earned a dual MBA and Master in International Relations at IE University. Today we live in a stone farmhouse in Abruzzo with 92 olive trees. It was a long way home. Between us we have made 15 homes in nine countries, from San Francisco and Lausanne to Dubai, Hanoi and Bangkok. Since 2011 our travels have taken us to 52 countries on more than 350 flights, with over 650 nights in palaces and castles, villas and bungalows, yachts and catamarans, mountain huts, cabins and hostels, and on the odd couch and airport floor.

We have arrived by tuk tuk and private jet, seaplane and motorbike, Land Cruiser and dugout canoe. We spent 40 days at Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives and crossed the mountains of Laos by bicycle, sleeping in farmers’ huts. The places we would go back to tomorrow include Zannier Phum Baitang in Cambodia, Palazzo Tiglio in Tuscany, the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne and the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok.

Teri studied economics and worked as a financial analyst at RTI International in North Carolina before living in China and Vietnam. She knows Asia well, especially northern Thailand, Guilin, Luang Prabang and Lombok. She has an eye for understated luxury, natural fabrics, artisan ceramics and vintage jewelry, and a serious interest in wellness and longevity.

Thomas came to hospitality through the kitchen. He started in French restaurants at 16 and trained at Chez Panisse in Berkeley and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. He worked the 2011 harvest at Château Coutet, near Bordeaux, and later represented the château at tastings in New York and London. He studied at the École hôtelière de Lausanne, did an internship in the wine department of Christie’s in Hong Kong, and worked as a hotel sommelier at the Four Seasons in Dubai’s financial center. He holds WSET Level 3. For about five years, as an investor in a Burgundy domaine, he was in the Côte d’Or several times a month. His background is why we know which tables are worth the drive, which cellars to ask for by name, and what is good rather than merely expensive.

We plan trips for couples and honeymooners, groups of friends, and families traveling across generations. From our home in Abruzzo we spend most of our working days exploring Italy, and we also plan trips across the rest of Europe and parts of Southeast Asia. We recommend and book the hotels, restaurants, cellar visits and drivers, and shape the days in between, always leaving time to rest. Through Fora’s partner programs and our own contacts, our clients can receive extras at many hotels, such as breakfast, a credit to spend during the stay, a wine tasting or an upgrade when available.

Write to us at teri.fioramonti@fora.travel with your dates, who is traveling and what you have in mind, even if it is still only an idea, and we will set up a call.
